Council
Overview
CS&CPC's
mandate is to provide connections within, and for, our community
of individuals, business sectors, service groups, local,
regional, provincial and federal governments and provincial,
national and global crime prevention authorities to aid in the
development of crime prevention capabilities. Our goal is to
raise awareness about the root
causes of crime. The root causes of crime comprise many risk
factors that when combined afford a higher probability that
crime occurs. A community that works together to understand and
manage the root causes of crime will prevent crime.
The
Community Safety and Crime Prevention Council exists
"because a connected community is a safer community."
Mission,
Vision and Values define the focus of CS&CPC; that crime
prevention involves making every resident, every community
agency, every business and service a part of the solution.
As a
community initiative, every citizen within Waterloo Region is
invited to attend and participate in the CS&CPC meetings,
held monthly. You can obtain a complete schedule,
meeting location and a copy of the minutes
of previous meetings. To request the minutes prior to the
beginning of the calendar year please contact
the CS&CPC offices.
The
Governance policy attempts to answer the questions
associated with the operational and aspirational goals of
CS&CPC.
